Hér eru nokkur ummæli sem gestir okkar og fjölmiðlar hafa látið falla um ferðir okkar og Vestfirði í heild.
„Við vorum alveg svakalega ánægð með ykkur! Takk fyrir alla aðstoðina og frábæra þjónustu! :-)
Ferðin var snilld í alla staði - veðrið æðislegt - logn og sól eiginlega allan tíman! Að sjálfsögðu toppaði allt sendingin ykkar inn í Höfn! Lærin voru ljúf á bragðið og rauðvínið rann hratt niður! [...]
„We wanted to thank you. Our stay in Isafjordur was fantastic, and everything worked flawlessly. All your colleagues were most helpful.“
„Now that we are at home and back to the boring old routine, I just wanted to say thank you for arranging such a good trip for us to the Western Fjords. You live in a wonderful part of the country and we enjoyed our stay immensely and look forward to further visits.“
„Our hike, from an abandoned village near Adalvik Bay, on the peninsula's western shore, to the abandoned village of Hesteyri, to the south, begins at sea level and tends upward, along overgrown wagon ruts, to a church so far inland that it seems a secret, and to the pond below it, home to a pair of nesting swans that seem to be having a domestic quarrel. The hike leader [...] stops often to point out the flora—a white and yellow flower that recently won the controversial national flower contest; a leafy plant called field sour that tastes like sorrel; medicine grass, which has violet flowers and lime-green leaves. As for fauna, we see very little. Though Hornstrandir is home to the arctic fox, Iceland's only indigenous mammal—and though the fox, having no predators, is not shy—none cross our path. There are golden plover, however, and common snipe (which sing with their tail feathers as they dive) and tiny white butterflies that rise from the grass in such numbers they look like snow falling up. What altitude we gain—almost a thousand feet—brings us to great heights: mountain after mountain, fjord after fjord, and in the distance the frosty snout of the Drangajökull Glacier. [...][W]hen the boat comes to pick us up that evening, from a beach we're sharing with three seals, I look with a certain wistfulness at the people disembarking with bedrolls and backpacks who will spend a week or more walking places where few have ever trod.“

"Highway 61, which takes you through the West Fjords is an attraction in and of itself. Somehow always balanced on a mountain's edge, it lends gorgeous views of a more ancient-looking landscape than you can see in the rest of Iceland."
Bart Cameron, Grapvine, Issue 13/2006
"Myrarbolti (a direct translation is swamp ball) [...] has truly found a home in Ísafjörður. I have never seen such a collection of oddballs, all local products, in my life. This is a town where two 19-year-olds were elected to city council after promising to import moose to the area. This is a town where the mayor is highly regarded for his excellent whale jerky, the home not just to Mugison, but to Reykjavík!, the Nine Elevens, the President of Iceland (not the band, but the guy, Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson). The city of Reykjavík markets itself as "Pure Energy". Ísafjörður outdoes Reykjavík not only in the energy department, but also in the more important department of CHANNELING it."
Bart Cameron, Grapvine, Issue 13/2006
"In Isafjordur, in the West Fjords of Iceland. One of the best times of my life [...] After two days, I was ready to move in. [...] We are going back to Isafjordur, as soon and as often as possible. And if you're a fan of music, nightlife, or nice, sociable
people, you´ve got to get there."
The Foghorns, http://www.myspace.com/thefoghorns, blog from August 16. 2006
"Nature Lovers' Nirvana!
My most thrilling experience in Iceland. A completely unspoiled environment,. I would have stayed with the hidden people in Midfell.
Óli, the guide, was charming and had a broad range of information and stories/anecdotes to share."
Megan Williams on A day in Hornvik
"The tour was fantastic! Is it possible for us to adopt the guide?"
Travelers on A day's hike in the Nature Reserve summer 2006. It should be noted that the guide is 27 years old!
"As a geographer, I truly appreciated the magnificent landscapes and tranquillity of West Fjords, and the architecture of Isafjordur."
Raymond Barnes (Summer 2005).
"Is it always that beautiful here?"
Mr. D.M. UK (Summer 2005)
"It's like Mother Nature has pushed the impenetrable wall of stark black and grey mountains just far enough back to give humans her blessing to build a town here"
Alex Elliott, Atlantica Magazine.
"Lying hours from anywhere, over unpaved roads and mountain passes, Ísafjördur is like a tiny city, with almost everything you could need."
Alex Elliott, Atlantica Magazine.
"charming, relaxed streets flanked be old three-story buildings with businesses on the first floor and apartments above!"
Nikolov, Paul.F. Grapevine 2005. Issue 10.
"Before long, wee arrived in Bolungarvík. This picturesque little town is well situated on a wide expanse of flat land beneath mountains kept relatively far back from the twon itself. There's some excellent hiking around town, and the sleepy, isolated feel makes it an ideal place to really unwind and forget the rest of the world. Some visitors, in fact , have come here and never left."
Nikolov, Paul F. Grapevine 2005. Issue 10.
"The whole of the West Fjords is remote, and there are countless remote corners within it. Even after multiple visits, you probably still won't get get to see it all, and though you'll return to the capital with a small feeling of regret for not having stayed long enough, at least you can count on your next visit to be just as worthwhile is the one before."
Nikolov, Paul F. Grapevine 2005. Issue 10.
